CUMBRIA Police have launched an appeal after a girl was seriously injured after being dragged under a bus front wheel.
Police are appealing for witnesses as part of the investigation into the collision which resulted in a teenager suffering serious injuries.
Officers said on Thursday May 2, between 4.10pm and 4.15pm, there was an incident on London Road, at the junction of Chertsey Mount.
Cumbria Police said: "It was reported to police yesterday (May 3) that a 14-year-old girl’s bag got trapped in a school bus door whilst she was exiting it. The bus, a white coach, had then set off dragging the girl under the front wheel."
The girl suffered serious leg injuries, according to police.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help establish the full circumstances of the incident. They are also seeking to hear from motorists who may have dashcam footage which may have captured the incident.
